James Morgan - Director of Hospice

James was named the Evergreen Hospice Director on October 9, 2017. Previously James was the Director of Spiritual and Emotional Care. Before coming to Evergreen in July 2016 he was a hospice Chaplain Team Coordinator in Missouri for four years. James has also served as a pastor, was on the Air Force Academy faculty, and was a Missile Launch Officer. James has earned a Master of Divinity, a Master of Science (Management), and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology). James remarked, “It’s a true honor to be a part of an amazing Evergreen team who puts patients and their families first.”

Mel Selock - Hospice Clinical Director

Mel Selock joined the Evergreen Hospice team in June 2019 as the Clinical Director. Mel obtained her Registered Nursing degree after the personal loss of a family member and feels hospice is her passion and calling. “My years in hospice care have truly been the most meaningful and fulfilling years of my professional life.”  She believes in “heart-driven” work and states, “I am blessed and thankful to be a part of such a great team who is not only a not-for-profit, but also a FOR PURPOSE organization.”


Robyn Leighton - Hospice Social Worker & Volunteer Coordinator

Robyn is the Social Worker and Volunteer Coordinator of Evergreen Hospice Care in Olathe, KS. Robyn has worked as a Hospice Social Worker for two years prior to joining the Evergreen team in May 2018. Robyn earned her Master of Social Work from University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Counseling from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.


Linda Girard - RN/Hospice Case Manager

Linda believes hospice work is a much needed medical area of expertise and receives fulfillment from assisting patients and families at end-of-life. She has worked in hospice for 7 years, and as a floor nurse in a nursing home for four years prior to hospice. The appreciation and reliance of hospice patients and their families compels Linda to continue striving to care for this area of our population to the best of her abilities. She holds an ASN from Excelsior College, LPN from Grayson County College,  Liberal Arts AS from The Metropolitan Community Colleges, and is two courses from achieving her BSN. Linda seeks to spend time with her family, friends, and her dog, enjoying meals, the outdoors, and travel on her personal time.



Michael Shields - RN/Hospice Weekend Nurse

Michael is an RN with over 5 years of experience in hospice nursing and over 18 years of community education, including experience in public schools and university level. He earned his nursing degree from Neosho County and his Master’s of Education from Bemidji State University. Michael is the proud father of two sons, Ted and Conner.


Cory Webb - Health Information Specialist

Cory joined the Evergreen Hospice team in October of 2016 as the Health Information Specialist. She earned her RHIT degree from DeVry University. Although most of her time is spent maintaining the medical records for our hospice patients, she also helps to take phone calls throughout the week. She feels honored to work with such a dedicated and compassionate team, and has found her home away from home with them. When Cory is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors or watching movies, as well as watching her three kids participate in their various activities. 


Kendyl Frerking - Music Therapist

Kendyl is a board-certified music therapist. She has a degree in Music Therapy from Drury University and has over three years of experience working in hospice and memory care. She has a passion for making music with others and providing opportunities for self-expression and support. She resides in Overland Park with her family and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Buddy. 


Asha Williams - Hospice Aide

Asha has been with Evergreen Hospice Care as a Hospice Aide since October, 2015. She is currently working toward her degree in nursing and attends classes at Kansas City Kansas Community College. Asha grew up in Kansas City and continues to reside in the metro area. Family members of multiple residents have raved about her highly skilled care-giving.


Mike Lane - Hospice Chaplain & Bereavement Coordinator

Mike joined the EHC team in 2019. He and his wife, Gloria, are the proud parents of two daughters, one son, and five grandchildren. Mike earned his B.S. in Design Drafting Technology from Cameron University (Lawton, OK) and his Master of Divinity from Austin (Texas) Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He completed his Clinical Pastoral Education at KU Medical Center. Mike also leads Hope Bridges, a not-for-profit ministry that supports 120 children in Thailand.


Nina Huffman - Administrative Coordinator

Nina has been with Evergreen Hospice since January 2019. She is excited to be a part of the Evergreen team! She helps out in all aspects of the front office and is always there to greet you with a smile. Outside of work, Nina is a foster parent and has recently adopted her son. She has a passion for helping others and it really shows in everything she does.
